McWu started during maternity leave.
I stayed home with my son for the first year. We read together every day. So many books I started a journal just to remember them all.
Then came creatures, because my son was deep in a creature phase and I needed to draw them. I dusted off my screen printing skills from college and started printing them onto small notebooks. One thing led to another.
Making McWu taught me something I hadn't learned in fifteen years of making things for other people. When the brief is entirely yours, you find out what you actually want to make.
McWu is a small design studio in Los Angeles. Everything here is designed by me and printed in small batches, mostly by hand.
That work lives at corinamcfaden.com.
If you found something here you like, I'm glad. Made slowly. For people who notice.
